Pink Lightning Picture Board

A set of contact sheets of each take made in the original rough cut of Pink Lightning. I felt having a hard copy of each shot that was in the film helped in solidifying the primary idea and atmosphere I wanted to create in the film helping me in the edit of the film.

Location Finding for Pink Lightning

A collage of some of the potential locations and objects found when location finding for Pink Lightning. While taking these photos I made many preliminary sound recordings of the areas meaning I would have more control over the sound designing of the project in post.

Cut Times for Soñar

When I edit, I will tend to note down the second and millisecond that I cut. Therefore if I play the same footage and cut at the same time, I can be more confident that this cut point is correct.

Location Map for Pink Lightning

Slightly damaged by the rain, it shows all of the locations that were used in the film.

Pink Lightning (2016) Shot List

I have grown to favour shot lists over storyboards as with a shot list it is possible to describe the intentions, purpose and location of the shot while being able to leave how the shot will be framed to the day of the shoot. I believe this type of list is better if one is shooting in an uncontrolled environment as improvisations to ones original idea have to be constantly made to take account of factors such as weather and light.

The Inception of Pink Lightning

These were the two sketches that were the inception of the idea for Pink Lightning, which started with the idea of using close ups of the wheels of the bag while recording the sound of the wheels contacting the floor to help build tension in a narrative.

Storyboard for the Multiple Exposure Sequence of Soñar (2016)

The drawing of this storyboard helped me to imagine before the editing of the sequence what kinds of shapes and collages I wanted to create and the spacial differences that I wanted to have between the figures in the film.

Voiceover Script for Concrete (2016)

Voiceover script for Concrete. On the left hand side the shot number and the amount of seconds between each shot is shown while on the right the script is shown.

Storyboard for Concrete (2016)

A section of my storyboard for Concrete (2016). This storyboard helped me to visualise how the film would look and what feeling I would be aiming to create before the shoot.
